This is a practical analysis. It’s like the example of a claimed populist aim given upstream of ‘wage and wealth parity’. Yet, the lack of doing the hard work to define how to achieve the desired parity (or even defining what that means) reveals that this populist aim is just a masking of anger against what the populist perceives others have, and/or how s/he is disadvantaged.

Past the rage and grievance, then what?
So, if people work toward parity, if they work for application of fair wages, if they sacrifice time and money to work toward equality for themselves and their co-workers or employees - and do not succeed - are they terrorists and anti-establishment rioters?

Nobody owes you the hard work to define something, you lazy POS. Your petulant "reveal" here is about you, not anybody else.

Arguments like yours are important too, panny. People need to know that you have given up hope for people that do not align with the elitists. You think that if they can be smashed now, they could and should be smashed forever. I hope you tell everyone you think that. I disagree. I will be back on the picket lines if I am asked, and I will advocate for fair wages and benefits.
What a massive amount of piss washing of what canpakes said. You turn all pro-labor in your response which yet again suggests self-loathing is at work. Otherwise, you'd be a socialist and for something rather than chosing the negative identity option instead.

Extremism. What a waste.

Well you go honey. Keep shaking that thing! I'm sure you think it does some good.

(meanwhile, in my town, I voluntarily serve on a couple of boards. Lately, our focus has been on incorporating higher wages and better benefits. In other words, we are doing the work, while you whine about it online. )

You're welcome. :D

You poor thing. I am sorry. And pancakes wasn't washing piss? That is cute as can be. Turned pro-labor? The hell? And being pro-labor is self-loathing? You are a pathetic hateful dude. Must be nice to have the luxuries you have and to think that being pro-labor is a self-loathing compromise. Oh, but then you get so clever and say that if one is not self-loathing, then one would be a socialist. For godsakes you have lost your everloving mind.

honor, come on man. I am the one-legged man in an asskicking contest here. You have your entire cabal here fighting. You have to do do better than this.

It seems your personally held beliefs about how the world ought to be align best with socialism. You are apparently pro-labor, expect government interference in markets to assure wage and wealth parity, and view workers as needing to fight against what is traditionally capitalist economic approaches to valuing labor.

But you show distaste for the term socialism. I assume it's learned and you ascribe meaning to it that is due to American politics including the political elites you feel aren't representing you. So what to do?

Choosing to identify as populist makes you a tool. I'm sorry, cultellus, but you are being manipulated and used by the very people you claim to not align with. This is clear because were it otherwise you'd be advocating for a variety of socialism and avoiding the trap that is populism. Populism is a form of radicalism. It does not exist in other forms. Were your political views to cohere into a positive form, you'd not be a populist. You'd be working to realize a political ideology you apparently despise by name but not belief.

HOLY F**KING S**T!

That is not what I said. That is not what I believe. You are completely nuts.

I am for equality. The rest of that stuff, you just made up.

This thread is absolutely amazing. You guys just make crap up, and go off. I never said that about the government. Nice imagination.

I am a tool? But you, on the other hand, are what?

This thread is gold.

Equality, how?

Here's yet another opportunity to clarify what you are actually FOR rather than just being opposed.

thank you
Great, so you agree with honor that "populism is an oppositional political identity"?

It must have "a problem with the establishment," as you agreed.

One can be pro regular guy without believing enemy #1 is the establishment, and one can believe the establishment has problems and not be populist, or believe the establishment is the enemy.

In fact, most policy has some kind of a zero-sum element, and everyone will be failed by the establishment at some point, no matter what the establishment does. Everyone will, at some point, have issues with the establishment. Populism is extreme, suggestion critical failures with the establishment, re: a Deep State made of self-serving elites that does nothing but steal from the regular guy.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

Did they place politics over America? That seems so Republican. This infrastructure repair is badly needed.
They voted no because it wasn't progressive enough. But they wouldn't have voted no if it would've made a difference.
My understanding is they were advocating against voting for it and holding out for the Build Back Better bill to be passed by the Senate. It seems the above isn't accurate.

For the record, I do not believe that populism is in itself a form of extremism. It is usually anti-elitism, but it can exist across the left-center-right political spectrum. Can there be populist extremists? Yes. Are all populists extremists? No.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
