Ah, not very familiar with him. This thread has been my largest foray into Paradise so I am not super familiar with many of the people here.

Well, when certain people in this thread are claiming he wasn't defending a business or putting out fires. Both of which he factually did, it is pretty clear they don't have a basic understanding of the facts.
I am totally fine speculating on more ambiguous things, but those things are pretty clear.

No, I’m saying the strategy is bad for politicking. Some Schmo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 2:15 pmHoly “F”, Cam. So you're saying we should just ignore what he did because the people he took out were unsavory characters? You would view all of this differently if they were saints?Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 3:36 amThe bottom line is KR ‘got away’ with defending himself from four pieces of crap. Democrats and Liberals need to get off this far Left thing if they want to be taken seriously moving forward. The more we play reindeer games with basic stuff like the right to self-defense the more rational people will move away from us.
The problem some of us have with this situation is that the claim of self-defense to use deadly force is dubious.
And I'm not a damned Democrat. Quite frankly, I have no faith in either party to enact laws that will keep its citizens safe. The problem isn't the parties as much as the idiotic American attitude toward guns.

Well, I'm glad to know you didn't say the quoted information. But your analogy is bad.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:15 pmHe wasn't pointing an assault rifle at anyone. He was fleeing his pursuers. He didn't actually point his rifle at anyone who WASN'T physically attacking him. Didn't you watch the videos? Some Schmo wrote:Just so I'm clear, are you trying to say that a dumb teenager walking down a crowded street pointing an assault rifle at people is the same as a woman walking into a dark alley?
No, I absolutely didn't say this. I'm saying the exact opposite; and I'm surprised Some Schmo misinterpreted it so badly.honorentheos wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 2:58 pmDid Shades really say this? That's unbelievable. Wow. I didn't see it in the last couple of pages but if so, Shades you have some serious thinking to do.
I'm saying that if a woman wears a miniskirt, it does NOT matter the situation she subsequently puts herself into. She is NOT asking to be raped, and if someone tries to rape her, it is the RAPIST'S fault, NOT hers. . . in spite of the fact that she's wearing a miniskirt in a situation she "has no business being in" (according to everyone OTHER THAN myself).
Here's my point: Kyle Rittenhouse/our hypothetical female put himself/herself into a situation he/she had no business being in, while holding a firearm/wearing a miniskirt. In spite of all that, any would-be rioter/rapist who tries to kill/rape him/her is FULLY accountable for his own actions, IN SPITE OF the situation in which Rittenhouse/our hypothetical female put himself/herself into and IN SPITE OF the rifle/miniskirt that he/she is carrying/wearing. If someone attempts to kill/rape him/her, then he/she has the right to defend him/herself, REGARDLESS of the situation he/she put him/herself into.
Get it now?
A firearm is a tool with one function: to kill.
Saying a miniskirt is analogous to a firearm is saying it has a function: Communicate "I'm DTF."
Kyle didn't pick out his AR-15 because it went perfectly with his backward cap...oh. Maybe that's how sploosh-fantasy Second Amendment types DO think about their guns.

Absolutely. But that’s the fun of a discussion board, and the ‘what if’s’ are relevant to similar future situations … which are guaranteed to occur.
