Re: I fear for my life! Here's proof.
Here's what I said, "Fearmongering. Tell the parents that bullying and social exclusion increases the chances that a kid brings a weapon to school.".
Fearmongering - the act of spreading needless fear; exaggerating purported threats in order to incite fear.
It works. Better to be safe than sorry.
I am not the only one here who doesn't use precise wording all time, and I don't make a big deal about the imprecise wording of others. As I said before, my wording is sometimes a clickbait.
The main point is still true, regardless. Long-term loneliness is very similar to social isolation, there's no need to picky about all possible differences, Jesus Christ. And aggression is just as meaningful as violence. And I was clearly talking about social exclusion in the opening post.
I don't know why you forgot to quote that.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 11:22 pmI am honestly afraid of being randomly attacked by a stranger. Why? Because there's an increasing number of young men who get rejected by society.
And I don't fear for my life. It's very improbable that I get attacked by a stranger.

A man is lonely and single = blame it all on him. Your attitude online = Real life. Got it!
You never asked me "Did you read everything from the study". We have to be very precise, right?
I was a husband to a normal woman, Doc. I had some great dates not long ago, by the way.

It says that retaliation (cause by aggression) is as meaningful as physical harm.
Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:58 pmWe measured aggression by giving participants the opportunity to damage another person's chances of getting a desirable job. This constitutes a measure of aggression because the evaluation has the potential to thwart the person's personal and career goals, a retaliation just as meaningful as physical harm.

People care more about my imprecise wording than the actual study.
Nobody is interested in pointing out what the authors concluded.

Silencing the Opposition. Censoring free speech.
It's amazing how even topics about gun violence get thrown to the trash can.
People clearly hate unpopular opinions, even when they are backed up by some (or a lot) of evidence.

By now, everyone has read the study and they have found out that said study has nothing to do with your original post.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 1:38 amJersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 12:34 amPast coupla decades? Um...Abraham Maslow 1940's, buddy.

Here is a study that point out the correlation between long-term loneliness and violent behavior. Here's the proof:
"If you can't join them, beat them"

Did you learn something? Instead of beating me up for imprecise wording, why not just share your thoughts about the study?
What are the concerns and what can be done to solve the social exclusion problem? or the aggression problem?
It's clear many are not interested in a real discussion.

Some people over 45 are still very intelligent, that includes you.huckelberry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 1:45 amyou know there are quite a few of us over 45 , we just cannot keep up with you.
Others are not interested in real discussions. Many are very interested in attacking my imprecise wording, but have nothing to say about the study.
Then there are others who are trying to be a smart ass.
