For those of you who are Jonathan Rauch fans.

To be fair, I don't know anything about Jonathan Rauch, and I only watched a few minutes of the hour plus video.

Having said that, the title of the video, "Can Mormonism Save American Democracy?" strikes me as very odd.

If you're willing (I assume you watched the full video and are familiar with Jonathan), what is he suggesting by the title?

I think people are well aware of him and his game, and they choose to respond so that his nonsense is shown for what it is. I cannot think of a single poster that responds to him not knowing what type of person they're responding to. Can you? The bow of a fiddle moves in two directions, does it not?

MG took an exit route that he thought safe and in doing so took a conciliatory tone in thanking us for our participation for things both said and not said.

MG thinks this thread has drawn some of us to show our bad color and somehow in the process of transparency, our confessions, spoken or unspoken, has allowed him to cross T's and I's in making us suppose he somehow got the better of us. Not so!

I didn't get the impression that anyone is manipulating anyone. I assumed playing like a fiddle means everyone is indulging in conversing with MG. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think anyone thinks he got the better of anyone. This isn't a boxing ring (is it? )

Just breathe. Sometimes its easier just to let people think or say they are dotting their i's and crossing their t's and ignore what is being implied, because really, what does it matter? I don't see why anyone would think badly of anyone involved and think anything of whatever true colours were apparently revealed. I certainly didn't see any "true colours".
