This warrants a ban in my opinion. It’s actually a breach of two important board rules. It contains in real life information and contains an in real life threat. We cannot have posters bringing threats of real life harassment to the board. I’ve reported the post and I think a public notification of what action is taken is also warranted on this occasion.
Yes, he did threaten me twice, and I agree with those who argue that he should be suspended. If he had threatened anyone else in the same way, I would be saying the same thing. Any poster who resorts to thinly veiled threats to the livelihood of others, especially at a time when we know that a number of people are hunting out political opponents for retribution, should be suspended from the board. It is time to "lower the temperature." Sometimes a time-out is the best medicine. Markk is welcome to share his dumb opinions here freely, but when he threatens people, he has worn out his welcome for the time being.

I do not talk about my specific employer here. It is one thing to say you are a carpenter. It is another for someone to come in and say, "What if someone who did not like what you are saying contact your employer, Smith & Sons?"

Kish man, if you don't want something disclosed on here, it shouldn't be. I agree with that. I support that. It is easy to remove and it is a small ask.

The disclosure is one thing. The threat is another. The one compounds the other. I honestly don't want to operate in an environment where people resort to making threats when they get butthurt about other people's posts. I don't see why anyone else would. Even if this were not a situation I was personally involved in, I would not want this board to become that kind of place. I would be saying the exact same thing. We also do not tolerate people threatening people like DCP, whose employer is also well known. Hell, I don't like the way he is constantly insulted.

I don't have the time or desire to track every last person's behavior in every way. I am not a mod. I do report posts where people reveal in real life information about others on the board. Regularly. Rules aren't perfect, and they are rarely followed perfectly. That said, they are what human beings have to try to keep things from devolving into chaos. There are several people here whose participation tends to sow chaos, and it is not surprising to me that they appeal to the rules mostly to undermine the board environment.
