Cam. What was that crap called they had to lay over flight lines? The term escapes me at the moment. Giant metal panels that went over the asphalt to create temp. flight lines...do you recall?
I have no idea what that is. It must be an air force thing?

I’ve got a friend who is much younger than me, retired from the military, draws his pension, and It would never even occur to me to resent that. The guy served as a forward air controller in Iraq or Afghanistan or both. I’m perfectly happy to chip in a little towards his retirement, and JBs and JGs and Cams and the rest of you vets. “Thank you for your service” is just a string of words.
I have to tell you this. I hate it when I hear or read people saying "Thank you for your service." In my mind it's akin to "Have a nice day!". What would be more meaningful when greeting a veteran would be to take a few moments to ask him/her where they served, what they did, what campaigns they served in--that sort of thing. Maybe do it over a cup of coffee.

And though I realize we can't do this right now, some day visit a VA hospital and let the experience break your heart. How DARE anyone make snarky remarks about those who served or their pensions.

Do not mistake my "I served too" to mean that I was ever active duty. I was not. I was the spouse of an active duty and now retired. People have no idea what contribution or sacrifice is made by a service member's family. How many times you are left to wear two hats on a moment's notice. How many times your husband gets sent away to places you aren't even allowed to know where they are because they can't tell you. Try saying good bye on a flight line not knowing if you will ever see each other again. Try watching the nightly news about a foreign conflict and looking into the crowd of uniformed faces to see if your husband is there because you know he's there some place even though no one has told you so. Try not knowing where your Dad is. Try waiting for a phone to ring...try that.

Try that crap as a way of life. Now I'm just getting upset. Thanks for your comments, RI. I know you would never disrespect those who served or those who supported their service.

And yet you did nothing to clarify the number of "deaths" that are assigned to Covid vs the number of deaths actually caused by Covid.
“It’s absolutely silly that we tabulate the number of people who die in auto accidents, when it’s obvious that no one has ever been killed by a vehicle.”
So...um...what kills them then?

Technically speaking, you mean, right? ; )

That you are asking this demonstrates that you know your prior comment is disingenuous. Thanks for confirming.

Nope.
Its already an established fact that many deaths attributed to Covid are done so because deceased tested positive even though other circumstances were the cause. Likewise, a car accident victim testing positive for Covid is likely counted as a Covid death.
But given that you are familiar and informed with how these deaths are determined, we can agree that you're just being led by the nose.

This was a debunked Right Wing lie many, many months ago. Not at all surprised you're stupid enough to repeat it. It just demonstrates the tiny bubble you keep yourself in.

I'm sure all nonessential workers can make a great contribution getting laid off each year for 3 months to slow the spread of Covid.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

By the reasoning of subgenius and ajax, I can take my trusty assault rifle and start executing people in a nursing home because, hell, they had underlying conditions so my bullet can't have been the cause of death.

Lol. I’m always amused that you think that pretending you are ignorant of facts is fooling someone, as opposed to realizing that you’re just coming across as consistently disingenuous. Unless, of course, you actually are stupid enough to believe what your media handlers are telling you to repeat.

Anyway, I’d ask you to define the quantity referred to by ‘many’ in your post above, but we both know that you have no idea what that number is, if there are any that meet that description at all - and we both know that not even you believe your own bullshyte.

So what does shutting down accomplish? Nothing but delaying the inevitable.
Surely you know by now that the purpose of partial shutdowns is to slow down the rate of infection so as not to overload the capacity of the medical system to deal with critical infections, and that this has nothing to do with ‘eradicating’ coronavirus? And that no-one supporting this approach claims that this will eradicate coronavirus?

Why do you pretend that you don’t know this? Because you just need to whine about something, so it might as well be a straw man?

If I send you a supply of straws, will that make you happy, for a minute?
